Sheikh Hasina Wazed

Sheikh Hasina Wazed (born September 28, 1947) is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the 10th Prime Minister of Bangladesh from June 1996 to July 2001 and again from January 2009 to August 2024. She is the daughter of founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the first President of Bangladesh. Having served a combined total of over 20 years, she is the longest-serving Prime Minister in Bangladesh's history. She was also the longest-serving female head of government in the world. Her rule ended in self-imposed exile in 2024 following a period of sustained violent protests.
